This course is designed to help real estate professionals strengthen their role as trusted consumer advocates by applying the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and New York State Agency Law in real-world practice. Participants will explore how ethics and agency intersect, and why compliance leads to stronger client relationships and a better overall real estate experience.
Through interactive discussions, case studies, and practical exercises, licensees will:
- Understand confidentiality obligations and the boundaries of disclosure.
- Navigate complex issues such as material vs. latent defects, stigmatized properties, and multiple offer scenarios.
- Examine transparency requirements in advertising and social media under Fair Housing, NYS Human Rights Law, and the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.
- Recognize the importance of respecting agency relationships and exclusive agreements.
By the end of the course, attendees will have the tools to make informed ethical decisions, protect their clients’ best interests, and enhance professionalism in every transaction.
