You’ve probably noticed when buyers are looking at houses, they pay more attention to the
kitchen and master bath than any other rooms in the house. Updates to these rooms can be
quite costly; that’s why it’s important to understand what type of costs one incurs when
purchasing a home. Let’s face it, kitchens and baths can be the most expensive rooms in a
house. Keep in mind as of 2019, the cost of a budget kitchen and bath renovation is at least
$15,000.

Whether your client if buying or selling a house, it’s important to have an idea of what’s
available and what renovating these rooms will. The key is to update these rooms without
breaking the bank. This class will focus on looking at creativity ways to accomplish both; often
without making expensive changes. By helping your clients focus on what they can do, you’re
guaranteeing a better experience and a less complicated sale for your client.

If your client is considering purchasing a forever home, or one they can comfortably age in, the
kitchen and bath should be inspected to see if they are ‘age proof.’ When buying a home, it’s
important to determine what needs to be changed to make it livable long term.
The current growth of the oldest population ages 65 and older is unprecedented
in U.S. history. The U.S. population is aging. Today, there are more than 46 million older adults
age 65 and older living in the U.S.; by 2050, that number is expected to grow to almost 90
million.

Kitchens and bathroom will likely require the most changes for long term living.
