A buyer may be ready to start looking at homes without realizing that credit concerns could affect their financing options or timeline. This course helps real estate professionals recognize common credit issues early and encourage first-time buyers to prepare before the home search begins.
Participants will explore payment history, credit card balances, student loans, collections, new accounts, and limited or no credit history. The class also examines the difference between credit card payment due dates and statement dates, why balances may still appear after a payment, and common credit myths that can lead buyers to make poorly timed decisions.
Agents will leave with a practical credit-readiness checklist and language for having helpful, respectful conversations with buyers. The focus is on encouraging preparation, recognizing concerns, and referring buyers to qualified mortgage, credit, legal, or financial professionals while staying within the real estate professional’s role.
