Representing buyers effectively requires an understanding of both your agency responsibilities and the people you serve. This course combines cultural competency with buyer representation, helping agents recognize how cultural norms, values, and assumptions can influence communication and the homebuying experience.

Participants will explore surface and deep culture, dominant cultures and subcultures, and potential misunderstandings that can arise when working with buyers. The discussion encourages agents to examine their own cultural perspectives and consider how to navigate differences respectfully.

The class also reviews the history of exclusive buyer agency, the distinctions between buyer’s and seller’s agents, and clients versus customers. Participants will examine buyer representation, brokerage relationships, compensation, and strategies for interviewing and working with buyers.
